1. Clean around

Cleaning your space a little once or twice a day will help you keep your home clean. I used to spend my Sunday morning cleaning because I did not take the time to do it every day.

I would spend 3-4 hours cleaning, knowing perfectly that I would have to redo it on the following Sunday. It was such a waste of time! Can you imagine what you can do in 3-4 hours instead? You can use this time to be productive and do things you enjoy.

Cleaning every day for 10 minutes in the morning and 10-15 minutes in the evening helps me keep my house clean. Put a timer, listen to a podcast or music, and these few minutes will fly! A clean space will boost your focus because it decreases distraction.

2. Unwind

The purpose of a night routine is to help you reset after a hard day at work and prepare for the following day.

I used to think that self-care was a waste of time until I burnt myself out. It then took me months to recover, and that was the real waste of time. I had to put all my projects on standby to take care of myself.

Relaxing is essential for long-term success. Take an hour to unwind in the evening. It will help you have a more balanced life and stay motivated in the long run. I love to listen to inspiring podcasts while I cook a delicious meal.

I find it much more relaxing than binge-watching Netflix.

No matter what you decide to do not skip self-care. It will help you decrease stress and reset before a new super productive day!

3. Prep’ for the following day

Waking up with a purpose and a plan is the best way to boost your productivity and fight against procrastination. The best time to elaborate your plan and define your priorities for the day is the evening before.

Taking a few minutes every night to review your schedule and define priorities will help you boost your productivity.

In addition to planning your day, you can also check weather forecasts to prepare your outfit, shoes, and accessories. There is nothing worst than being late because you can’t find your umbrella or arriving to work in wet clothing.

I also like to clean my purse every night to ensure I have everything I need and everything is well organized. Doing these little things in the evening will save you a lot of time in the morning.

4. Practice self-care

Selfcare is a great way to relax and take care of your mind and body. A warm shower is the best way to cheer yourself up and relax.

Taking 10-15 minutes to make a face, hands, feet, or hair mask is also a great way to take care of yourself. I love to do it while watching an episode of my favorite series or listening to a podcast.

5. Read

Reading changed so many things in my life. This was a habit I used to have when I was younger, but I stopped reading books while at university. I spent so much time reading boring books for my classes that I didn’t have any energy left to read good books.

Reading at least one book per month is now part of my favorite habits. I love to read before going to bed. It is beneficial to self-growth and sleep because avoiding screens one hour before bed improves sleep quality.

6. Meditate

Meditation has transformed my life. I used to suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and I thought it would end my life. I was unable to leave my house alone for months. I would have panic attacks every single time I left home, even if I were with friends.

Going to a restaurant or shopping rapidly became impossible. Meditating with the help of Headspace transformed my life and helped me control (and completely stop!) my panic attacks.

Headspace is available on iOS and Android. It is pretty costly (90$ per year), but it is so worth it. If you want to try Headspace for free before considering paying for the app, you can watch the series on Netflix. You can also use the app without paying, but free functionalities are really limited.

Headspace provides guided and non-guided meditations on so many different subjects and durations. You can also meditate without using Headspace or any other app if you are already familiar with the concept of meditation.

Meditating before going to bed increased my sleep quality so much. There is nothing better than waking up well-rested the following day!
